Stockwell Stud in Victoria is synonymous with breeding excellence and has an unparalleled record of success. The former location of the stud in Diggers Rest was highly respected across Australia during the era of the great stallion Showdown. Comeram, Star Shower, Landau, and Empryean also provided excellent support during this time.
The property boasts over 800 acres of pastured, well-fenced paddocks, 40 stables, 3 undercover round yards, and safe, sheltered day runs for spelling horses or yearling preparation. It's also easily accessible for owners who wish to visit and monitor the progress of their horses, being only 30 minutes away from Melbourne CBD.
The location of the stud is central to all breeding areas in Victoria, which makes it ideal for walking in mares for cover. The stud is managed by an experienced team.
Stallions have been our business for more than 20 years but it is getting almost impossible to compete against the big farms for the shrinking broodmare population.
